Three miles north of Moscow, the Idlers Rest and Twin Roads fire continues to burn. Beginning Monday, Aug. 30, the fire still remains 0% contained at 150 acres as of 5 p.m. Aug. 31. 95 personnel are at work on the scene, according to an Idaho Department of Lands press release.

Previous evacuation orders have been removed, though local homeowners are warned that a change in the situation could result in another evacuation.

The cause of the large fire still remains unknown.

Two structures have been destroyed, one of which was the home of the Garfield family. A GoFundMe has been started on their behalf.

Nearby, Idler’s Rest Conservation Area remains untouched by the fire.

As crews continue to work, the IDL asks that the public stay clear of the area and not fly drones, which would interrupt the team’s work.

The Argonaut will continue to follow this story as updates are available.
