Crumbs: Vegetarian Alternative to Famous Bowls

Celebrate passing all of your finals with a vegetarian alternative of the KFC classic

Finals week is quickly approaching, and you deserve a delicious treat for all your hard work. Here is an easy recipe for you to pair with your favorite drink and movie and celebrate accordingly.  

Prep time: 30 minutes 

Servings: two  

Ingredients:  

2 red potatoes 

2 Morning Star Farms Veggie Original Chik Patties 

1 package of McCormick Peppered Country Gravy  

1 can of corn   

Shredded cheddar cheese  

Garlic powder 

Salt and pepper 

1 tablespoon of butter 

¼ cup of milk 

Directions:  

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.  
  1. Place patties on a baking sheet and bake for 16 minutes or until crispy. 
  1. Peel potatoes and slice into cubes. 
  1. Bring water to a boil in a medium pot and add potatoes. Boil until soft.  
  1. In a small pot, add two cups of cold water and gravy mix, stirring frequently until boiling.  
  1. Simmer gravy for a few minutes.  
  1. Heat corn in a microwave-safe container for two minutes. 
  1. Drain potatoes and mash.  
  1. Add butter, milk, garlic powder and salt and pepper to potatoes and mix.  
  1. Mix in the corn.  
  1. Slice cooked patties into strips and place on top of mashed potatoes.  
  1. Top with gravy and shredded cheese. 
  1. Serve and enjoy.
