Crumbs: Spaghetti Recipe

This recipe has been a part of my family and leaves tons of leftovers. Luckily, I have the perfect way of repurposing it into lasagna. Grab a knife, turn on the stove and get cooking!  

Prep Time: 15 minutes 

Cook Time: 45 minutes 

Total Time: 1 hour 

Servings: 8-10 

Ingredients:  

1 lb. 80 % lean ground beef  

1 tbsp virgin olive oil 

1 ½ tbsp minced garlic 

2 tbsp dried basil 

4 tbsp Italian seasoning  

½ tbsp garlic powder 

½ tbsp onion powder 

½ tbsp black pepper 

1 tbsp sugar 

¼ cup beef broth 

1 tbsp beef Better Than Bouillon 

28 oz can of diced tomatoes 

24 oz pasta sauce 

1 large onion 

Instructions: 

  1. Dice the onion. 
  1. Grab a large pot and add olive oil and put on the stove at medium-high heat. 
  1. Add minced garlic to the pot and cook until aromatic. 
  1. Add diced onions to the pot. 
  1. Put in the dried basil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and sugar into the pot. 
  1. Add in beef broth. 
  1. Add ground beef when onions are just starting to turn translucent. 
  1. Chop and stir ground beef with a spatula until brown. 
  1. Add the can of diced tomatoes and do not drain them. 
  1. Add the tomato sauce. 
  1. Put in the beef Better than Bouillon paste. 
  1. Lower heat, simmer for about 45 minutes and stir occasionally.
