ASUI Senate reconvenes after spring break

New ASUI podcast will feature President Scott Green

Associated Students of the University of Idaho held their first senate meeting after spring break, discussing transparency and a community support project.

The meeting covered an upcoming podcast featuring ASUI President Lauren Carlsen and UI President Scott Green.

Sens. Hunter Gust and Zayne Hunter will interview Carlsen and Green to create transparency for information across the university community. The podcast will be released next Monday and will feature multiple episodes as a weekly series.

ASUI Vice President Joe Garrett is sponsoring a potential COVID-19 relief project created by Sen. Tanner McClain. The project would allocate $470.72 to create care packages made of necessities and household items for struggling families.

McClain was inspired to propose the relief project because of the negative impact the pandemic has had on several families in the community. The project was tabled for the following week.

Sen. Will Jansen Van Beek has been looking into space usage for Room 305 in the Idaho Student Union Building, along with other spaces. His goal is to identify and find uses for potential spaces that are not currently being used in the ISUB.
