This February marks another year of Black History Month, and to celebrate the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Black Student Union have created events and displays. Go to the on-campus library and view “The Future of Black History” to commemorate the group’s long history. Remember when going to in-person events, social distance and wear a mask to keep yourself and others safe.  

Black History Month Library Display: “The Future of Black History”  

Time: Any  

Date: Feb. 13—March 10  

Place: University of Idaho Library  

Price: Free   

To honor Black History Month, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Black Student Union have created a display on the first floor of the campus library. Stop by and pay tribute to the long history of African Americans.  

Vandal Trivia Night   

Time: 6—7 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 18  

Place: Online event   

Price: Free   

Show your skills in abstract knowledge this week and compete for prizes. Canyon County volunteers will be hosting the event and all alumni are welcome. During the night, they will ask questions about UI, Idaho history, music and Valentine’s Day topics.

Brewery Jams featuring Izzy Burns   

Time: 6 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 19  

Place: 333 N Jackson St  

Price: Free   

Hosted by Hunga Dunga Brewing Company, people are in for a show. Izzy Burns will be playing live music, filling the space with a calming atmosphere. Grab a seat, buy a drink and relax to tunes during this in-person event.  

World Music Celebration Concert  

Time: 7:30—8:30 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 19  

Place: Online event   

Price: Free   

During the Lionel Hampton School of Music for World Music Celebration 2021, students and other guests will experience new genres of music. Eduardo Mendonca on vocals, guitar and percussion will perform on Zoom. Members of the Lionel Hampton School of Music and student ensembles will play at the concert as well.

LGBTQA Family Game Night   

Time: 6:30—8 p.m.  

Date: Feb. 22  

Place: Online event  

Price: Free   

The LGBTQA Office will host a space for all to join and play games. By hosting the event via Zoom, people will have the opportunity to still pick their favorite board game and play along with fellow students.
