Crumbs: Valentine’s Day two-ingredient pretzels and dip

In case you aren’t a chocolate fan, here’s a savory treat to share with your loved one, or just yourself!

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you may be stressing out to find the perfect romantic gift or snagging a reservation for overpriced food. Don’t stress, because here is an alternative that will make your partner swoon. If you’re celebrating Single’s Awareness Day, these adorable pretzels can help you show a little self-love.

Prep time: 1.5 hours 

Servings: 5 

Ingredients:  

1 cup of self-rising flour 

1 and ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt 

Pinch of sea salt  

1 egg  

1 tablespoon of baking soda 

½ tablespoon of ranch seasoning  

Directions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.  
  1. Mix flour, 1 cup of yogurt and salt into a bowl until fully combined.  
  1. Sprinkle flour on a clean surface and knead dough for 1-2 minutes. 
  1. Pinch off a half-dollar size amounts of dough and roll into a line, approximately half and inch wide, and 5-8 inches long.  
  1. Shape into a heart.  
  1. Add baking soda to a pot of boiling water and dunk the shaped pretzels into the water for 5-10 seconds.  
  1. Place on a non-stick or coated baking sheet.  
  1. Thoroughly beat the egg in a bowl, and brush over pretzels.  
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they start to brown.  
  1. While they are baking, mix ½ cup of yogurt and ranch seasoning for the dip.
