Crumbs: peanut butter cookies

Peanut butter cookies are the perfect treat to make for those who are new to baking. They are the perfect balance of savory and sweetness, and are perfect for the holidays. Using simple ingredients that is already in your pantry, follow along and bake something great.

Prep time: 40 minutes  

Servings: two dozen  

Ingredients:  

1 1/3 cups flour  

3/4 teaspoon baking soda 

1/2 teaspoon baking powder  

1/2 cup sugar  

1/2 cup brown sugar 

1 egg 

1 cup peanut butter  

1/2 cup butter  

1 teaspoon vanilla  

Pinch of salt 

Directions:  

  1. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. 
  1. In another bowl, whisk butter and sugars together. 
  1. Add the creamed butter and sugar to the mixed dry ingredients.  
  1. Add an egg, peanut butter and vanilla to the bowl and mix.  
  1. Preheat the oven to 305 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  1. Shape the dough in medium sized balls and put on the baking sheet 2 inches apart.  
  1. Bake for 10 minutes.  
  1. Wait until the cookies cool and enjoy.
