BREAKING: No UI students in isolation due to COVID-19

UI community members encouraged to minimize travel around Fall Break

Breaking News Graphic

University of Idaho President C. Scott Green stated there are no students in isolation or Greek Life chapters in quarantine, according to an email sent to students, staff and faculty Monday.

UI first announced the number of students in isolation Sept. 14. It first announced the number of Greek Life chapters in quarantine on Sept. 28. This week is the first time since these two announcements that these numbers have both gone down to zero.

Last week, UI tested 789 people with a 0.89% positivity rate, the email stated. The cumulative average is now 2.42% positive.

COVID-19 is not under control in much of the country, though, the email stated. Green encouraged UI community members to minimize travel around Fall Break to keep friends, family and community members safe.

COVID-19 testing will be available to those who decide to travel for Fall Break but return to Moscow, both before and after the break. Individuals should wait at least six days since their last exposure before testing since the virus takes about that long to incubate. Those interested in testing can arrange it by emailing [email protected].
