The death of an individual in their 70s is the first death associated with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Latah County, according to an Oct. 27 news release from Public Health – Idaho North Central District.
The individual had age-related health issues and their case was being investigated prior to their death, the news release stated. PH-INCD epidemiologists are continuing their contact tracing investigations.
“We continue to urge you to protect your health and the health of others, especially older individuals and those with chronic health conditions who are most at risk,” PH-INCD Director Carol Moehrle said. “We all have a role to play in limiting the spread of this virus.”
No further patient information was provided out of respect for the family.
