REVIEW: “The Invisible Man” is a truly nail-biting experience

Watching this film is worth every minute

Typically, I watch horror movies which feature a masked killer. These films have a certain formula to them, but “The Invisible Man” has introduced a new kind of horror story.

“The Invisible Man” features a woman named Cecilia (played by Elisabeth Moss), who is abused by her husband, a scientist. She finally gets the courage to run away from him and later learns he passed away. Instead, he had invented a suit which, once on, makes anyone appear invisible.

So, was he actually dead? Fat chance. He was alive and ready to ruin Cecilia’s life because believed she could not be happy without him.

This science fiction psychological horror delivered in so many ways, even as I watched it in the comfort of my own home. I went into this film without knowing anything about it, so I’ll admit I was a bit confused at first, but the mystery paid off in the end.

“The Invisible Man” features a spectacular storyline with plenty of twists, riveting stunts and amazing cinematography.

Have you ever imagined being beat up by someone invisible? Cecilia’s actress made it look possible. After all, in one scene, her supposedly dead husband drags her by her hair across a living room while she fights back. It was impossible to tell if the invisible man was winning the fight or she was.

But also — who would believe you if you told them someone invisible hads been stalking you? Absolutely no one. They’d think you were crazy. The other characters thought Cecilia was crazy, too, and she was eventually taken to a mental institution.

I had hoped to see Cecilia become invisible to fight the invisible man, but I guess that’d be difficult to film. After all, they’d be filming, right?

I give this film a five-star rating. Go ahead and give it a watch, you won’t be sorry. And maybe it’ll give you inspiration to go into the invisible suit business.

“The Invisible Man” is available to rent on Amazon, YouTube and Apple.
