Half of UI’s parking ticket revenue will be donated to student emergency fund

The other half of Parking and Transportations revenue will be allocated toward regular services

News Update

Half of the University of Idaho’s parking citation revenue will go to a student support emergency fund from now until the end of the fiscal year on June 30, according to a press release sent out by UI.

This revenue will only come from tickets paid by the end of the fiscal year.

The Bruce and Kathy Pitman Emergency Fund provides financial support to UI students who are experiencing emergency situations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The other 50% of parking citation revenue will be allocated into the budget for its usual purposes — including operating expenses, lot maintenance and alternative transportation, Robert Mitchell, UI Parking and Transportation Services information specialist said.
