Liberate Moscow, a protest against Moscow’s City Council and the state of Idaho’s stay-at-home order, will be held at 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Moscow City Hall sidewalk, according to a Facebook event.

“So, because of the ongoing decision to continue with the (stay-at-home order), we are going to peacefully ‘assemble to petition our government’ to reverse the course of action, as is our right under the constitution,” the Facebook event said.

Gov. Brad Little’s stay-at-home order was extended until April 30 on Wednesday. And the City of Moscow’s ordinance restricts gatherings of ten of more people until May 5.

The Moscow Police Department directed concerns to Capt. Roger Lanier who could not be reached for immediate comment.

Protests against Gov. Brad Little’s stay-at-home order took place across Idaho on Friday, with one happening in Lewiston. The protests were under a group named Disobey Idaho and there is no knowledge of whether this group.

The Facebook event has asked protestors to keep their distance of six feet apart, wear masks if they please, bring respectful and fact-based signs if possible, to not yell and to pray for City Council to change their minds.

As a private citizen I have no influence against Moscow city council. Since Moscow does not respect me I have decided not to spend one dollar in my community. And I am telling everyone I know to do the same until they remove this unjustified and stupid mask requirement. Perhaps if we quit shopping locally the local business community can say enough is enough and earn back my business.

Looks like the Branch Covidians from that crazy-ass church are behind this.

Freedom comes with responsibility. Moscow currently doesn't have any confirmed cases at all. If that changes, this gathering WILL be the cause. I am sure that the organizers and participants have the integrity to be held accountable for the medical bills of the infected, the resulting damage to the local economy and further reduced UI enrollment in the fall. UI and the City should team up and make sure that these people pay for their action
