In the first 10 days “Tiger King” was on Netflix, it reached 34 million viewers.

While we have been stuck at home, many of us have watched the insane documentary that is “Tiger King.” Whether you just finished the series or finished all seven episodes in a day, this newest episode is one you shouldn’t miss.

Released on April 12, this episode is an interview-style show where Joel McHale sits down with some of the people who were featured in the documentary and got their thoughts on how the documentary told their story.

While following social distancing, McHale sarcastically interviews these people. Although there are more serious questions in there, the majority of them are lighthearted.

There are many things you learn in this episode you wouldn’t have from watching the original seven episodes, such as the instruction workers received to kill young tigers in order to make room for more, the feelings they have about how they were portrayed and how many leather jackets Jeff Lowe has.

The majority of people in the documentary felt the story portrayed them in a negative light or that the story was sensationalized.

One topic that was a little surprising was the fact that Kelci “Saff” Saffery identifies was a male, but he was referred to as a woman during the documentary.  Although he didn’t seem to mind, noting that it bothered other people more than it bothered him, it’s still a little sloppy of the documentarian to get something like that incorrect.

Although there aren’t any tigers in this episode, it is still just as shocking and interesting as any of the others.

Lowe and his wife answer a question that is on everyone’s mind: Did Carol Baskin kill her ex-husband? Their response, “Abso-f***ng-lutley.” Take that response the way you want.

The new episode answers a lot of questions on our minds. However, they don’t talk about any of the TikTok trends or memes that are associated with the show, which is disappointing.

The main takeaway from episode eight: If you want to see one of these people, you’ll find them in Walmart and McHale will do another show like this when another documentary becomes a “surprise sensation during a global pandemic.”
