Caribou County has confirmed its first case of COVID-19

Caribou County confirmed its first case of COVID-19, according to a press release from Southeastern Idaho Public Health (SIPH).

The case is a female in her 50s from Caribou County. The individual is at home recovering and the case appears to be travel related.  

Caribou County is located in southeastern Idaho with its largest city being Soda Springs.

There are now eight confirmed cases in southeastern Idaho; five in Bannock County, two in Bingham County and one in Caribou County.

Epidemiologists at SIPH are investigating any close contacts and monitoring the situation closely.

“All household members of the confirmed cases have been asked to self-isolate at home for a prescribed period of time,” according to the release. “If other people are found to have been exposed, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and they will be asked to self-monitor for the development of symptoms.”
