University of Idaho’s Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council and Multicultural Greek Council have suspended all upcoming spring Greek Life events due to the potential spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at large gatherings, according to three press releases from the councils.
Types of canceled events include, but are not limited to, socials, formals and philanthropies, both on and off campus.
The press releases also state Panhellenic, IFC and Multicultural will transition to virtual communication for delegate meetings, recruitment training and all other communications.
Panhellenic, IFC and Multicultural, along with individual Greek Chapters will make further decisions about adjustments with the university’s daily evaluation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Greek Chapters will make a decision soon about whether or not they will remain open after spring break.
