The University of Idaho women’s lacrosse team celebrated senior day with a 14-5 win against Northwest Nazarene University on Sunday at the SprinTurf in Moscow.

The Vandals celebrated their seniors after the match with gifts and cheers from attending fans. Seniors Natalie Wiley, Jordan Pratt and Nicole Hindberg played in their final home game as Vandals and UI President Scott Green arrived after the game to take pictures with the team.

“I loved it,” Wiley said. “All my friends came out to support me and there was so much support behind my team to help.”

Wiley is the team captain and president of UI women’s lacrosse. She spent the last eight years playing lacrosse, and has been playing as a Vandal for the last four years. Wiley recorded five goals and four draw control wins in her last game as a Vandal.

“Having the honor to be captain and watch new players and these girls grow and succeed in every aspect of the game—means so much. Every game is incredible,” Wiley said.

Pratt, on the other hand, experienced lacrosse for the first time this season, playing as a goalie. She recorded an over 70 % save ratio with only five goals scored against her in the win against NNU.

“This has been a learning curve, but it’s been really fun getting to know the team and being able to experience sports at the collegiate level,” Pratt said. “Having the team and the Vandal pride has been cool.”

Even with her short experience in lacrosse, Pratt said she will miss the team aspect of the sport and her time with the team is unlike any experience she has ever had.

Both Wiley and Pratt look toward their future and are continuing their education after graduation.

Wiley is currently studying ecology and is looking to go to graduate school to study sustainability. She said she would be interested in coaching lacrosse in the future.

Pratt is a nutrition major and recently applied to graduate school. Pratt is looking to play more lacrosse in a recreation league in the future.
