Moscow City Council met March 2 for their bi-weekly meeting at City Hall.
Big-ticket items:
- Downtown parking assessment
- City Council approved a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a study of the public parking system in downtown. An RFQ is a request for firms to submit their qualifications to be considered for a project.
- Deputy City Supervisor Bill Belknap said the city included $45,000 in funding during the preparation of the FY2020 budget to hire a consulting firm to assess and provide recommendations related to the utilization of downtown parking.
- The study will analyze historical documents, on-street and off-street parking, key stakeholders and an assessment of our existing transportation system. The final report will be completed in November 2020.
Small-ticket items:
- Council pre-authorizes
acceptance of potential grant offer
- The Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport applied for grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program to complete Phase 5 of the Runway Realignment Project and Terminal Design project. The council pre-authorized the acceptance of a grant offer.
- The amount of the grants is up to $8,000,000 with a local match of $649,600.
