This week's events at UI

Many Nations, One Family: Strengthening Connections with Indigenous Students | 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday

Where: Bruce Pitman Center Room 045 

The University of Idaho is hosting a workshop to help students, faculty and staff increased their knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Students through exploring the unique cultures of each student. The workshop is free and open to everyone. It is Zoom capable, email [email protected] for registration and connection at least 48 hours in advance.

Cereal & Board Games | 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday

Where: The Hub dining hall, Wallace Residence Center

Vandal Entertainment, the Residence Hall Association and ASUI are hosting a cereal and board games event. ASUI representatives will be there to get to know the students. The event is free for students.

UI Spring Career Fair | 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Wednesday

Where: ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center 

Career Services is hosting the spring career fair with over 100 employers expected to participate. The fair is free and open to all. Professional dress and a resume is strongly recommended. Contact Career Services for more information at (208) 885-6121 or by email at [email protected]


Spring Alternative Service Break Sign Up Day | 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday

Where: ASUI Vandal Lounge, Idaho Student Union Building

Thursday is the next opportunity to sign up for a spot in the spring Alternative Service Breaks. Trips are during spring break in March and are regional. Past trips have been in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Wyoming. Cost for the trip is typically $150.

Clothing Swap | 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Thursday

Where: Clearwater room, Idaho Student Union Building and more

Throughout the week students can drop off gently used clothes in donation bins around campus. On Thursday the Sustainability Center will collect all those clothes for a clothing swap open to everyone. After the swap, all donations will be taken to a charity organization. Drop off locations include: Wallace Basement, Tower Lobby, LLC Help Desk, Bruce Pitman Center Lobby, near Einstein’s in the ISUB or the Clearwater room on the day of the swap. 


UI 3MT | 1 p.m. – 3: 30 p.m. Friday

Where: Vandal Ballroom, Bruce Pitman Center

UI Three Minute Thesis event is a competition open to all graduate students in order for them to share their thesis or dissertation in three minutes or less. Winners will receive prizes and the opportunity to present their work at the statewide event on Feb. 19, 2020 in Boise, Idaho. The competition is free and open to all to watch.
