Bachelor Breakdown: The unfair group date rose

A recap and commentary on this week of "The Bachelor" from a true fan

I am a big fan of “The Bachelor.” It’s an addiction. Every week I plop on the couch and turn on the television Monday nights right at 8:00 p.m. to see what juicy drama is going to emerge that evening.

We are four episodes in and let me tell you, “The Bachelor” is already a rollercoaster of drama. Between pageant queen cat fights and even a champagne scandal, is Peter the Pilot really there to find love? Will he ever?

Every year host Chris Harrison says the same thing over and over again, “It will be the most dramatic season yet. You’ll see something that has never happened in Bachelor history before.”

And we already have.

There is always one two-faced contestant on “The Bachelor” franchise who appears like an angel to the Bachelor, but in reality she just wants to cause chaos. That is Alayah. If you don’t know who she is, look her up on Instagram.

We were left last episode with the aftermath of Sydney accusing Alayah of being fake. Peter told her to say the name of who she was talking about in the group date of being “fake.”

Talk about drama. Peter made her speak the name of the “fake” person in the group to everyone? That’s just bad decision making. If he thinks that won’t turn around to bite him, he is wrong. Then it all escalated from there. Peter gave into peer pressure and kicked Alayah off the show because of her “fakeness.” Everyone applauded him for that decision. Yet, in the episode I watched this week, she comes back and gets a rose.

C’mon producers. You need to be a bit more creative. This scene was predictable and frankly the shock factor was low for me. The part that shocked me was that Peter was a sucker to fall for her shenanigans again and let her back into the group.

And then there’s Victoria F.

Let’s stop for a second. She got her first one on one date and I am so thrilled for her. She is shy but seems like such a sweetheart who deserves love. The date was going great until her ex-boyfriend, Chase Rice, sings to Peter and her on stage.

Once again, why producers, why?

This was so planned, and it was a plot to ruin the relationship they were blossoming. The producers knew he was her ex, so why not have him show up during their one on one? After that, it became awkward between Peter and Victoria F., yet it ended up with them in the corner of the room away from the cameras making out.

Peter, stop making out with every single woman left and right. I get it, chemistry is important — but also — ew?

When Victoria F. found out Alayah was telling the house all about her ex-boyfriend Chase, that’s when I became proud of Victoria F.. She went over with her glass of wine and shut the tea down. She put Alayah in her place. Yes girl! Fight for Peter!

Oh yeah, and there was a one on one date Peter had with Kelsey. But let’s be real — nothing happened here. Frankly, it was a bit of a bore. Can the producers bring the champagne scandal back?

For now, Bachelor nation, I will leave you with your thoughts. I’m already ready to turn on the television Monday and find out what happens to Alayah in this two-part episode. But for now — we wait.
