Now that everyone is cozy and acclimated into their new schedules, the week can seem rather boring. Our schedules and classes have stagnated, and many students have a lot of free time but not much to do.  Luckily, there are plenty of events in Moscow that can help what that.  

Tasteful Tuesdays: Superbowl Snacks | Tuesday

  • Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Date: Tuesday
  • Place: ASUI Vandal Lounge, Idaho Student Union Building
  • Price: Free

Excited for the game and love free food? Come and grab a snack this Tuesday at the ASUI lounge on campus. Among free food, there will be super-bowl snack demos and recipes to take home for hosting a Super bowl watch party. What’s not to love about sports and free finger food?

Vandalizing the Kitchen | Thursday

  • Time: 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Date: Thursday
  • Place: Student Recreation Center, Room 103
  • Price: Free

Want to learn how to cook nutritious meals on a college budget? Vandal Health has it covered this Thursday. This course will teach all the basics of cooking easy, nutritious and delicious meals. The three-course meal in this instructional course can be enjoyed during and after cooking. All cooks are welcome and are encouraged to come learn.

“Cozy” at the Third Street Gallery | Thursday

  • Time: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Date: Thursday
  • Place: Third Street Gallery
  • Price: Free

Experience a non-tradition art gallery this Thursday. “Cozy” will be a unique event showing work of regional fiber artists. Woven patterns and refreshments will be provided to enjoy at a no-host bar. Get comfortable during the winter season by enjoying cozy art.

Moscow Bluegrass Festival |Friday

  • Time: 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Date: Friday
  • Place: Hunga Dunga Brewery
  • Price: $10

Hunda Dunga Brewing Company is proud to present a Moscow Bluegrass Festival. Local bluegrass bands will be featured including Pick Axe Bluegrass, Moscow Mules, Steptoe and Squirrels N’ Bonnets. Entry fee is $10 and well worth attending.

February 1 Winter Market | Saturday

  • Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Date: Saturday
  • Place: 1912 Center
  • Price: Free

Check out the first winter market of 2020 this Saturday. Over 30 different vendors will be selling their works at the winter market. There is something for everyone including a range of items from fresh knits to pickled vegetables. Mexican Kitchen will be catering during the event making for a tasty lunch. Come support local vendors and their craft.

Scott Pemberton: Electric Power Trio at John’s Alley Tavern | Saturday

  • Time: 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Date: Saturday
  • Place: John’s Alley Tavern
  • Price: $7

End the week with great live music at John’s Alley Tavern. Scott Pemberton, the “Bruce Lee of Rock and Roll” according to Marcia Schultz from Tahoe Onstage, will be performing. All the way from Portland, Oregon, he is ready to entertain Moscow with funky rock.
