Enjoy Vandal spirited events from Serpentine to Idaho football hosting Idaho State or enjoy local Moscow events like Salsa Night

It’s the University of Idaho’s Homecoming Week, which means everyone is either busy showing their vandal pride or keeping up with the midterm drags. But it’s time to strut for UI and be a proud Vandal.

Stay hydrated, up to date on your coursework and most importantly, have fun. Here are the best events this week on the Palouse.

Drag Bingo: Trick or Treat Editon | Courtesy

Drag Bingo: Trick or Treat Edition

  • Time: 6:30 p.m.
  • Date: Monday
  • Place: 1912 Center
  • Price: Minimum $5

Join the fun at the 1912 Center on Monday. There will be entertainment brought to you by fabulous drag performers while you play bingo for prizes. There will be three early bird rounds followed by 10 rounds of bingo.

A $5 minimum is asked to attend but you can pay more for additional packs from $10 to $15 which includes early bird rounds and an extra sheet of paper for an additional round and more.

Card sales start at 6:30 p.m., early bird rounds start at 7 p.m. followed by regular games. All proceeds go toward Inland Oasis, a Palouse volunteer-based group that helps the LGBTQA community.

October Folk Tunes

  • Time: 6:30 – 8 p.m.
  • Date: Wednesday
  • Place: Mikey’s Gyros
  • Price: Free

Mikey’s Gyros is hosting a ukulele sing-along. There is no entry fee, all that is needed is a  ukulele to sing along. All tunes will be chosen the night of, so no need to practice beforehand. Those who don’t feel like singing are encouraged to come and listen.

Palouse Literary Festival

  • Time: 7 – 9 p.m.
    Date: Thursday
  • Place: Book People
  • Price: Free

UI’s Master of Fine Art’s creative writing students and Book People are treating writers in the community. As part of the Palouse Literary Festival here will be a discussion featuring award-winning authors Debra Gwartney and CMarie Fuhrman.

Salsa Night

  • Time: 6 – 9 p.m.
  • Date: Friday
  • Place: One World Cafe
  • Price: $4

Monthly Latin dance night is back! This Friday come to One World Cafe to learn salsa from  Annelise Nielsen and Daniel Reiss from Salsa on the Palouse. Beginning lessons are from 6 – 7 p.m. and social dancing will be open until 9 p.m. All ages are welcome, no partner is required.

Homecoming Weekend 2019

  • Time: All-day
    Date: Friday
  • Place: University of Idaho
  • Price: Free to Students and Alumni

It’s Homecoming Week, one of UI’s longest-held traditions. Events will be happening all week around UI’s campus but here are the main ones. Friday at 8 p.m. the marching band will be marching along new and old Greek Row through the residence halls and up to the Kibbie Dome parking lot to gather for the bonfire.

Saturday the parade will be from 8 – 9:30 a.m which will coincide with the Moscow Farmer’s Market. Still looking for some homecoming inspired events? Don’t worry the Vandal Tailgate will start off at 11:30 a.m. to  2:30 p.m., followed by the homecoming game against Idaho State. Which is free to UI Students with a VandalCard and for alumni looking to purchase a ticket you can visit UI’s online ticket site.
