The Vandals are riding a bit of momentum after a solid home win over North Dakota last weekend, but this team still has some growing to do. Idaho will take the win over Montana, but will fall to Northern Colorado in the Kibbie Dome.

I think this young team will be able to sneak by a win against Montana in the home conference opener, building from the success against North Dakota. Unfortunately, things will fall flat against Northern Colorado on Sunday giving the Vandals a split weekend at home.
Zack Kellogg — 2-0
This year’s team has faced a lot of adversity, losing two veteran leaders to injuries and having an always changing roster with players trying new positions every week. But coach Jeremy Clevenger’s roster experiments seem to be paying off. With the Vandals also having a lot of momentum after their win against North Dakota, expect an undefeated start to the conference schedule.
Max Rothenberg — 0-2
We’re taught growing up to never wander into a bear’s territory. If you see markings on a tree, get out. If you see a baby cub, get out. And if a bear invades your own territory, get out even faster — leave your friend behind if that’s what it takes. Unfortunately, this weekend is a one-two punch to the throat. There are no trees to climb and too many stairs to overcome. It’s too late to play dead. What is Joe Vandal supposed to do against a grizzly and a generic second bear? Chop them with his axe?
