It can be hard finding things to do in Moscow. Maybe Facebook seems too crowded or you don’t know where to look first. Here are some fun things to do around the Palouse, scattered throughout the week.

  • Price: Free

This Tuesday, artist Christy Hays is performing at One World Cafe. This will be a can’t miss show. Admission is free, so why not spend your Tuesday night supporting an up-and-coming musician.

Spaces & Places Tour feat. Mr. P Chill, Oscar Goldman & Cleen | Wednesday

  • Time: 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Date: Wednesday
  • Place: One World
  • Price: Free

One World Cafe is hosting another performance this week, featuring Mr. P Chill, Oscar Goldman and Cleen. These three artists have been on their tour “Spaces and Places,” and will be hitting Boise next. Their main vibe is hip-hop. The event is kid-friendly and a great way to spend a Wednesday night.

  • Place: Student Recreation Center Classroom
  • Price: Free

Vandalizing the Kitchen is back this week, a class hosted by Vandal Health Education, to teach students how to cook well, healthy and on a budget. The cooking demonstrations are free, and all skill levels are welcome.

  • Place: Palouse Bicycle Collective
  • Price: Free but donations welcome

Palouse Bicycle Collective is celebrating a Palouse Bike Week. There will be events about bike safety and education, but this Friday they are hosting a bike-in movie night. No, you don’t have to ride in on your bikes. The movie playing will be “Ride the Drive.” It is encouraged that attendants bring blankets and chairs for the night there will be a raffle, brats and root beer floats. Admission is free, but it is encouraged to give a donation. The event will be next to the Palouse Bicycle Collective, in the Latah County Annex parking lot.

Friends of the Moscow Library Fall Book Sale | Saturday

  • Time: 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • Date: Saturday
  • Place: Latah County Fair and Event Center
  • Price: $15 – $25

This Saturday, the Latah County Library District is hosting a fall book sale. The event will be held at the Latah County Fairgrounds. There will be children’s books, young adult and classics as well as DVDs and CDs. Membership costs only $15 for individuals and $25 for families. These will go toward supporting the Moscow Public Library and all of its funding.

On Friday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. there will be a Friends of the Moscow Library ONLY preview sale that is also definitely something to check out. They are accepting credit cards this year. Come check out the sale because who doesn’t love supporting the local library and recycling books?

While we are entering fall, it is still the perfect time to go to the Moscow Farmers Market. With just about a month left, it is important to cherish and support local artists and vendors around the community. There will be food, flowers, quality handmade crafts and produce. It is always time well spent at the farmers market and is hard not to come back with something to admire.
