Bennett tested negative for meth one day after initial Vandal Alert, test shows

Denise Bennett tested negative for meth Jan. 31

University of Idaho professor Denise Bennett, who was placed on administrative leave in January because of unprofessional conduct, said she took a monitored urine drug test one day after the initial Vandal Alert went out.

The Jan. 30 alert referenced recent use of methamphetamine and access to firearms, something Bennett admitted to Moscow police in November.

Her drug test, taken Jan. 31 in Lewiston, Idaho, came back negative for all tested substances, including methamphetamine. Bennett’s legal counsel, Jeremiah Hudson, provided The Argonaut with the results.

Bennett said she tried “incredibly hard” to complete a test on the day of the Vandal Alert, but two facilities in the area could not immediately handle her request.

Drugs and firearms are a deadly combination. Hope Denise gets proper treatment.
