Mental health resources come to campus

Pozole sale

Brothers of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity invite all to their annual all you can eat pozole event, a traditional Mexican stew consisting of hominy and pork.

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the St. Augustine’s Catholic Center.

Tickets are available for $7 presale and $9 at the door.

Health Hut

Vandal Health Education will have the Health Hut will be set up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 in the Idaho Commons Lobby.

Students are invited to stop by to learn about different aspects of health, find campus resources, talk to peer educators and grab free swag. The focus is on mental health awareness.

Fresh Check Day

A celebratory fair event to raise awareness to mental health will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Wednesday, March 6 in the Idaho Commons Plaza.

The free event will feature different booths, music, food and prizes. The event’s purpose is to bring awareness to mental health and connect students to resources.

Board Games and Cereal with ASUI

All students are invited to play board games and eat cereal with representatives of Associated Students of University of Idaho from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. March 6 in The Hub.

IFC Scholarship Recipients

Four Fraternity members were selected out of 19 applicants for the Interfraternity Council Rising Scholarship Awards Feb. 22, according to a news release.

The winners are as follows: Trent Hunter of Theta Chi was awarded $1,000, Cole Elliott of Beta Theta Pi was awarded $500, Jordan Hieronymus of Alpha Kappa Lambda was awarded $250 and Jacob Von Bargen of Theta Chi was awarded $250.

According to the news release, the scholarships are intended to reward first year IFC fraternity men who have shown outstanding and academic and personal success in his first semester at the university.

All applicants submitted their grade point average, resumé, and a one-page essay about “interfraternalism.” All applications were reviewed by a committee IFC Executive Council officers, according to the news release.
