Valentine’s Day events

Learn about Google Street View

 Certified Google Street View Photographer Ron Hall will lead a session on the Goolge Street View app at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Doceo Center.

The session will focus on the use of the Google Street View app on smartphones and how it can be utilized to explore places around the world. Hall will also show attendees how to shoot 360 photos and video on Ricoh Theta V equipment that is available for checkout from the Doceo Center.

Those in attendance will receive VEER foldable virtual reality glasses for use with a smartphone.

Registration must be completed prior to the event. Participants are also welcome to attend the session via Zoom video conferencing.

Nectar offers Galentines day event

 Nectar restaurant is offering a Galentines day event starting at 4 p.m. Friday..

Female community bartenders will be serving up their signature drinks in support of women. One dollar from each drink will be donated to Alternative to Violence on the Palouse in support of the non-profits work.

Lunch with Michelle

The University of Idaho community is invited to lunch with Michelle, a student from Nicaragua with firsthand experience of the conflict in her country at 12 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Women’s Center.

Michelle will talk about the role of young people in a time of socio-political unrest in Nicaragua, and the significant role women have played in social movements.

Michelle also looks forward to hearing student viewpoints on the role of feminism in hostile and patriarchal culture.

Solidarity Circle

Planned Parenthood Generation Action is holding a solidarity circle with people of color at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the Idaho Commons Whitewater Room.

The event is safe place for open discussion centered on the injustices affecting people of color on the Palouse as well across the country and around the world.
