Idaho football player arrested, faces rape charge

University of Idaho football player Kyree Curington was arrested Saturday, after police were notified of a possible on-campus rape, according to the Moscow Police Department’s daily log.

A warrant was sent out of Curington’s arrest. The first year UI student now faces a rape charge, according to the Latah County Jail Roster.

The police were notified by a parent calling into the police station around 5 a.m. Friday morning. The log shows the parent called “advising possible sexual assault” in the university’s Wallace Residence Center dormitories.

“Kyree Curington has been suspended indefinitely from the football team while the university investigates an alleged incident on campus as it relates to the Student Code of Conduct,” according to a statement from UI. “This is in addition to any investigation the Moscow Police Department is conducting.”

Curington’s bail has been set at $75,000.
