Tricking out the Tower

UI residence hall to host 40th annual trick or-treat event Saturday

As Halloween approaches, the University of Idaho and Moscow communities have plenty of spooky, fun-filled events to attend, such as the 40th annual Tower Trick or Treat.

The two-hour, free event — which takes place 4 p.m. Saturday in the Theophilus Tower — allows children in the area to visit the residence hall, picking up candy and treats along the way.

Visitors will have the chance to experience all 12 floors of the Tower — each decorated with a different, “kid-friendly” theme. Games and prizes will also be available.

Past themes have included Legos, “Star Wars,” Neverland and Candyland, according to a 2015 Argonaut article written by Diamond Koloski.

Lydia Killea, the Tower’s residence life coordinator, said the event allows UI students to interact with the community, as well as volunteer.

Volunteers generally dress up for Tower Trick or Treat, adding an extra element to the various themes.

Attendees can donate canned foods during Saturday’s event as well.
