Relient K has always been one of my favorite Christian bands. Each new album they’ve made has explored a different style of music and the endless possibilities that attract a wide variety of audience members.
Their newest album, “Air For Free,” really amplifies their substance as a band. It’s very indie and has a fresh feeling to it. The music is calming, beautiful, and from my experience you can listen to any song on the soundtrack no matter what mood you’re in.
One of the songs, called “Mountaintop,” is about a couple and how much they mean to each other, and a couple of the lines in the song (if not most of them) are the kind of things that you wouldn’t necessarily something you’d expect to hear in a love song.
Now if you were to ask me, I would pick the song “Marigold.” It details the story of an orphan and an orphanage being portrayed as a garden by having different kinds of “flowers.”
One of the lines in the song reads “Oh, I’m a Marigold, and you picked me.” It’s a very beautiful song and it definitely gives off good and faithful vibes and is something super fun to jam to in a car.
Overall I really like the Air for Free Relient K album and I recommend it to everyone that wants zen.
