News Brief — University of New Mexico selects Garnett S. Stokes as its president


According to a University of New Mexico news release, the UNM board of regents unanimously selected Garnett S. Stokes as its 22nd president.

It was announced in early October that University of Idaho President Chuck Staben was interviewing for the position. Staben visited UNM for an interview Oct. 17 and was one of five finalists for the presidency.
