Athena, the University of Idaho women’s group for faculty and staff, will meet tonight from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Hunga Dunga Brewing Co. for happy hour — a night of socializing and networking.
According to Athena’s event website, Athena puts together social events, like happy hour, to help build relationships among its members.
“Athena really values spreading support and connections between women faculty and staff,” said Lysa Salsbury, director of the Women’s Center. “All current and future members of Athena are warmly invited.”
Tonight’s meeting will touch on casual topics concerning faculty and staff, but will mostly focus on socializing members, Salsbury said.
Tonight marks the first of four Athena meetings scheduled throughout the year, Salsbury said.
“For new women employees on campus, Athena is an opportunity for them to meet professional women on campus,” Salsbury said. “This is a good opportunity for socialization and a way to get involved.”
Athena will hold all upcoming socials at local restaurants, Salsbury said.
The next social will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Nectar Restaurant and Wine Bar.
