The raspy voice of the vocalists compliments the light, airy feel of the background instrumentals.

“Hopeless Wanderer” by Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons is one of the best bands at evoking a sense of wanderlust, especially through this track from the band”s second album, “Babel.” With the very recognizable sounds of folk.

“Big Jet Plane” by Angus and Julia Stone

This song, by an Australian brother and sister duo, mixes indie and pop music in the most charming way. The mix of light string instruments matches perfectly with the underlying electric guitar beat throughout the track.

“West Coast” by  Coconut Records

Solo artist Jason Schwartzman, who performs under the name Coconut Records, brings a smoky sound to this upbeat tune. High pitched electric piano keys and a tambourine compose the intro of this quirky song. This track brings out a beachy, indie vibe reminiscent of songs from the “60s.

“California” by Delta Spirit

This California based indie rock band layers each individual voice in the band incredibly. With a fast rhythm and quick, pulsing beat this track builds up and explodes during the chorus. This is the kind of song that, once heard, would make anyone hit the repeat button until it is worn out.

With sounds from indie, folk, punk and electronic music, this song unfolds and develops every step of the way. This track should be on everyone”s exploring playlist.

“Hotel Anywhere” by Cold War Kids

This song opens up strong and keeps the powerful tempo going throughout. Both the electric guitar and drums make up a large part of the rhythm for this song, creating a very recognizable indie rock vibe from the Cold War Kids.
