Vanilla ice cream makes a long, hot day hiking around campus almost worth it. To get a good arm workout, be sure to make the ice cream from scratch without the help of an electric whisk or an ice cream machine.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint whipping cream
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 7 ounces milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Pour whipping cream into a large bowl and whisk until peaks form, approximately 10 minutes
  2. Whisk in vanilla right before peaks form
  3. Add condensed milk and milk
  4. Stir in with a rubber spatula until mixed
  5. Pour mixture into freezer safe Tupperware or bowls
  6. Freeze until set, about 4 hours
  7. Serve cold
