Used either as a neat party food or just for fun, these have a unique taste similar to both bananas and potatoes. Definitely worth trying.

Ingredients:

  • 1 plantain
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Olive oil or butter

Directions:

  1. Slice plantain and fry in oil or butter until golden brown on both sides
  2. Add salt and garlic powder to the bowl
  3. Add 1/4 cup water to the bowl
  4. Flatten the sliced cooked plantain with the bottom of a cup
  5. Dip the pieces into the bowl
  6. Fry again on both sides with higher heat until the squished pat is golden brown
