If you like porter, chocolate and cake, give this recipe a try. My significant other makes this cake and its one of my favorites. Frost with your favorite flavor of icing, I prefer cream cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 pint porter
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Butter a Bundt pan if you have one, any cake pan also works
  3. Mix dry ingredients
  4. Warm beer, oil and vanilla on the stove, but do not boil
  5. Mix liquid ingredients into dry ingredients when warm
  6. Mix in chocolate chips
  7. Bake in pan for 25 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean
  8. Ice the cake
