Despite two separate equalizing goals by sophomore forward Kavita Battan and junior forward Reagan Quigley, the Vandals lost in overtime to Weber State 3-2.
Quigley and Battan led the team in shots with three each. In total the Vandals took 14 to Weber State’s nine.
The loss drops Idaho to 4-11-1 overall and 4-2-1 in Big Sky play — but remain second in the Big Sky standings.
This game shows how deep the Big Sky is, Idaho coach Derek Pittman said.
Idaho will look to get back on the right track when it host Idaho State on senior day in the annual ‘Kick Cancer’ game.
The overtime loss was the Vandals fourth overtime game of the year, they are winless in the previous three (0-2-1).
Quigley’s goal in the second half was her first career goal. Olivia Baggerly assisted on both Vandal goals.
