Christmas feast, New Year’s dinner and unlimited cookies, cupcakes and desserts might keep your stomach busy all month. It’s time to give it a break by eating the tasty, healthy and non-greasy porridge. The pork veggie porridge is also a good choice when you are sick since it contains needed nutrition and is easy to swallow if you have sore throat.

Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots
  • Half cabbage
  • 1/4 lbs. pork
  • Mushroom, as desired
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 5 cups water

Directions:

  1. Shred the carrots and cabbage, set aside.
  2. Cut the pork into small chunks and mushroom into small pieces.
  3. In a pot, stir fry garlic, carrots, cabbage, mushroom and pork together and wait till the pork turns white.
  4. Add rice and soy sauce, stir well
  5. Add water, salt, and stir well.
  6. Cover with the lid, and simmer for 20 minutes.
