A former Pizza Hut employee has been charged with armed robbery for stealing money from the restaurant and forcing employees into the walk-in freezer.
Lt. David Lehmitz said the man entered the restaurant wearing a mask and gloves, and that he had a weapon.
“He didn’t say anything, but it was pretty obvious what he was there for,” Lehmitz said.
He said he forced one of the employees to open the safe, and then he forced the employees into the store’s freezer.
One of the employees called the police from the freezer, and police apprehended the man in the area, Lehmitz said.
