Many people overlook apples that might be a bit wormy or bruised, but I say, “Embrace them!” It’s easy enough to cut off an apple’s blemishes and utilize its good parts in this simple and easy treat.

This recipe is pretty simple. There is only one thing you need: an apple tree, fully laden with fruit ready for the taking. I found mine in the backyard of my apartment.

Applesauce can also be made from store bought apples, although not as exciting. For those with meal plans, applesauce is a great use for any apples that you manage to smuggle out of Bob’s.

How To:

  1. Fill a pot with peeled and cored apples
  2. Add a couple inches of water to the bottom
  3. Cook on the stove (around medium-low) for about an hour or until apples are mushy, stirring occasionally.
  4. For flavor, add cinnamon and sugar to taste.
