Breakfast might be one of the most important meals of the day, but that doesn’t mean it should take forever to create. This easy egg and toast recipe takes 15 minutes and is packed with protein.

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of your favorite bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • butter or margarine
  • salt and pepper
  • Optional: cheese

Instructions:

  1. Use a glass to cut a hole in the bread by pressing down firmly in the center of the glass.
  2. Lightly spread each side of the bread with butter or margarine and place in a frying pan on medium heat. I like to toast the bread centers as well.
  3. While the bread is toasting, mix the egg and milk in a small bowl and scramble.
  4. Once the bread is toasted on both sides, poor the egg mixture into the hole. If some egg escapes wait for it to cook a little and then simply scoop it back into the center.
  5. Flip the now egg-filled toast to cook the other side.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste and place cheese on top to melt if desired.
  7. Fill the bread-cutting glass with juice and enjoy a delicious breakfast.

To make breakfast for a party larger than one, try using an electric griddle.
