Police log – Sept. 3-8

Sept. 3

10:11 a.m. UI campus

Business owner reported possible theft of a year-old drill though he is not sure it was lost, sold or stolen.

12:33 p.m. Rayburn Street, Renfrew Hall.

Male caller reported he thought that another man who had his phone out might have taken a picture of him while in a men”s bathroom, even though he described the man as having been texting.

2:38 p.m. to 3:27 p.m. Appaloosa Road, Pinto Drive and Lenter Street

Three callers reported calls demanding they pay supposed debts to the IRS.

Sept. 4

12:40 a.m. W. Sixth Street, Wallace Complex

Caller reported smell of marijuana, but officers could not smell or find anything.

3:10 a.m. W. Palouse River Drive

Female caller reported battery from another female. The subject denied the accusation. Report is incomplete.

Sept. 5

3:23 a.m. Deakin Avenue and Idaho Avenue

Police arrested a 17-year-old female for a DUI. Police released her to an adult.

8:03 a.m. E. Fourth Street

Police arrested a 40-year-old Washington male for a felony. There was a warrant out for his arrest.

2:46 p.m. Ridgeview Drive

Caller reported that someone else”s trespass notice had been violated. However, the supposed trespasser had been invited by the person with the notice and their dispute had already been resolved.

11:52 p.m. W. Sixth Street, Wallace Complex

Police reported five subjects in the Wallace Complex were arrested for minor in possession of alcohol.

Sept. 6

12:08 a.m. East E Street

Caller reported a domestic dispute. A drunk woman was transported to Gritman Hospital for detox.

12:14 a.m. S Main Street, Champions Bar & Grill

Police arrested a 24-year-old male for battery after a verbal argument. He punched the person he was arguing with, but the punched person wrestled him to the ground. A friend assisted.

11:55 a.m. Northwood Drive and Deer Meadow Court

Caller said he witnessed a hit and run. Both vehicles involved in the supposed altercation were located, but neither appeared damaged.

Sept. 7

7:09 a.m. to 2:02 p.m. Valley View Drive, Vandal Drive, Moser Street, East B Street, South Blaine Street and North Blaine Street

Burglaries. Ten separate callers reported items stolen from their unlocked vehicles.

3:43 p.m. East First Street

Frequent caller reported dispute with neighbor living in same structure over noise of neighbor”s dogs.

4:38 p.m. S. Main Street, Gritman Hospital

Hospital called about an “unruly” patient, but not until the patient had left.

10:02 p.m. North Almon Street

Caller had people staying at his house and he decided he did not want them there anymore. He asked them to leave but they refused. He called the police to remove them as trespassers.

Sept. 8

4:38 a.m. East Sixth St & S Mountain View Road

Male, 47, with a Missouri driver”s license was arrested for DUI.
