Tristan Woodside, UI senior and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, passes away 

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise

Tristan Woodside, a University of Idaho senior and U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Emmett, Idaho,  has passed away. A service will be held for Woodside at 10 a.m. MST Thursday, March 12, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.  

According to an obituary published on LifeTributesNews, the cause of his death has not been publicly disclosed, and the family has requested privacy regarding the matter. 

In the obituary, friends described Woodside as lively, kind-hearted and someone who always brought energy and positivity into every room he entered. Family members said they remember him as a devoted son and loyal friend whose laughter, generosity and empathetic spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. 

Woodside was general studies major and involved in the Navy ROTC program at UI, according to an email sent out by Blaine Eckles, Dean of Students. The university was notified of Tristan’s death on Feb. 26. Students impacted or looking for assistance can contact the Counseling and Mental Health Center
