Joseph Bonnell-Hall, a University of Idaho graduate student, was found dead south of Moscow near the intersection of U.S. Highway 95 and Thorn Creek Road on Thursday, Jan. 29.
A memorial service was held at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the Marimn Health Coeur Center in Worley, Idaho. Bonnell-Hall was from Plummer, Idaho, located on the Coeur d’Alene Reservation, and was a member of the Sandia Pueblo Tribe of New Mexico.
It was confirmed by UI on Feb 2. that Bonnell-Hall was a graduate student in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and was working on a Master of Science in agriculture, with an emphasis in water resource science and management.
“Joseph was profoundly and actively committed to making the world a better place in almost every aspect of his personal and academic life. He will be greatly missed,” said Tim Link, director of the water resources graduate program in a UI press release.
According to Moscow-Pullman Daily News, Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbut said the autopsy report was not yet available. The Idaho State Police and Latah County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating Bonnell-Hall’s death.
