Four men were arrested after burglarizing several fraternities on the University of Idaho campus on Dec. 21 around 7 a.m. The Moscow Police Department arrested Grant Abendroth, Traiden Cummings, Aidan Prakash and Silas Qualls for multiple counts of burglary. They had fled the scene initially but were later identified.

Cummings is a Moscow resident and Abendroth, Qualls and Prakash are freshmen at UI and members of Theta Chi. UI and Theta Chi have not made any statements about the incident.

Qualls was also charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. All four made an initial court appearance on Dec. 22 at the Latah County District Court.

Six fraternities in total were targeted, according to court records: Phi Gamma Delta, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Tau Delta, Sigma Chi, Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Delta Theta. The stolen items mostly included personal items such as backpacks, jewelry and a cellphone, and items meaningful to the fraternities such as paddles and framed pictures, according to MPD Capt. Dustin Blaker. A framed picture worth $3,000 is listed in court records as among the valuables taken.

Police recovered several stolen items, and only Greek houses were targeted in this robbery. The investigation is currently ongoing. Blaker said he recommends students lock their homes and have people check on their houses when they are gone. Students and Moscow residents are also able to fill out a form for the police to check their homes while they are away on long breaks.
