Local coffee shop, Red Star Coffee Co., opens new location on campus 

Red Star Coffee has moved to a new location at 880 W 3rd St. | Reagan Jones | Argonaut

Red Star Coffee Co., a local coffee shop founded in Moscow, has moved to a new location at 880 W 3rd St., across the road from the University of Idaho Student Recreation Center. Its previous location in the Stinker gas station parking lot on Pullman Road and Peterson Drive closed on Jan. 19, with the new location opening the next day. 

Operating hours at the new location are Mondays through Fridays from 5 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturdays from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. The building includes a walk-up and a drive-thru window. 

To celebrate both its first full week open at the new location and its 16-year anniversary on Feb. 1, Red Star is offering different promotions each day from Monday, Jan. 26, to Sunday, Feb. 1. 

On Thursday, Jan. 29, customers will be offered a free espresso shot. Friday, Jan. 30, is “Fill-a-tray Friday,” where orders of four or more drinks will be 10% off. Saturday, Jan. 31, will come with 20% off all crewnecks, and Sunday, Feb. 1, will feature an anniversary giveaway.
