“Photos with Santa” is coming just in time to help you get into the holiday spirit!
This event will be held by Career Services from Dec. 2-3 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the second floor of the ISUB in the Rotunda. It is free to anyone who attends, making it the perfect occasion to bring in holiday joy. There will be candy canes, props for the photos and, of course, Santa himself.
Students, families and residents of Moscow are welcome to attend. Pets are also welcome to be included in the photos. “[The event] is an opportunity to get out of the busyness of the semester and go have fun with friends,” said Sydney O’Neil, the event planning co-op intern of the University of Idaho’s Career Services.
Photos with Santa have been a campus tradition for over 10 years. Career Services is excited to bring it back once again for the community to enjoy. “It’s just a fun time for students to come and take pictures – goofy, serious, whatever you want,” said Amber Gray, the assistant director of employer relations, events and operations.
Gray recalled a favorite memory of hers from the event two years ago. “We had a yoga class come and they all did yoga poses around Santa.”
Attendees are expected to bring their own phone or camera to take pictures with.
Although the Career Services team will be taking their own photos there, they are careful of the privacy of children. “We won’t take any of the kids but if parents want to ensure that, we do have a waiver form that they sign that ensures that we will not use their kids’ photographs for our marketing purposes,” Gray said.
“It is the one event that Career Services puts on that is a ‘non-pressure’ event, so there’s no meeting with employers, no shaking hands with faculty, staff, none of that,” she said.
With the holidays coming up, this event is perfect for having a good laugh with friends to relax before upcoming finals or to take photos for your holiday Christmas card. Career Services is proud to bring back “Photos with Santa” for the Vandal community, continuing a tradition that started many years ago.
