“Winter Nights Under Vandal Lights,” the University of Idaho’s annual tree-lighting ceremony, will take place on Monday, Dec. 1, from 4-5 p.m. at the ISUB plaza.

The tree-lighting ceremony has been a tradition since 1931 at UI. It will center on the Vandal Family Holiday Tree, grown by students in the College of Natural Resources at the UI Experimental Forest near Troy, Idaho.

“The event features seasonal treats, an ornament giveaway and holiday carols from the [Lionel Hampton School of Music] Vandaleers,” read an email sent to UI employees.

President Scott Green, ASUI President Seyi Arogundade and UI mascot Joe Vandal will be present at the tree-lighting ceremony. Attendees can RSVP here to be entered into a raffle for a gift basket from the Vandal Store.
