On Nov. 13, the Idaho Vandals women’s volleyball team traveled to Missoula, Montana for a match against University of Montana. Although Montana has been better this season, the Vandals still kept it close,as each set was won by no more than only five points, but were swept in three sets by the Grizzlies.
The Vandals finished each set strong; however, they gave up too many points in the middle of each set. Montana was good at controlling most of the game, despite a few instances at the end of the first twosets, but they closed out winning both sets.
The Vandals had an unusual game, as freshman outside hitter Kiana Greer only had seven kills and redshirt junior outside hitter Cayton White only had six. Junior opposite hitter Csenge Krakoczki was a bright spot for the Vandals. She finished with 17 assists and one kill on one attempt. A lot of the errors came from blocks, but also service errors and normal attack errors. Errors are what could’ve changed the outcome of this game as having 18 total errors is a lot of missed points.
Montana and Idaho both struggled with errors, but the difference in the match was the ability to score. Montana had 40 kills in the game while Idaho only had 27. Both teams had seven people score but Montana had higher scorers, as they had two people with more kills than Idaho’s leader Greer.

The Vandals’ next game is also in Montana, but in Bozeman this time. On Saturday, Nov. 15, at noon, the Vandals will be taking on Montana State for the first time this season. The Montana State Bobcats are 12-12 in the season and are on a one-game win streak.
Idaho, on the other hand, is 5-20 on the season and on a three-game losing streak. The Vandals are hoping to secure a good conference win to end the losing streak and help finish out the season strong.
