Sage McCetich, born and raised in Moscow, is campaigning for the Moscow City Council with an emphasis on affordable housing and maintaining fair property tax to keep essential services for the community.
After graduating from the University of Idaho in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing, McCetich started a career in real estate sales and property management and has been doing so since 2016.
He has been the broker and owner of Blue Sky Real Estate for the last five years and Green Grass Real Estate in Pullman for the last three years. He has continued his career as a Moscow-based realtor for the past 12 years.
“I particularly have always been invested in what makes Moscow a really special place,” McCetich told The Argonaut. “To me, it’s the overall support systems that we have here. It’s the people, it’s the diversity. It’s the influence of the university… and the unique opportunities that come with that.”

McCetich said he prioritizes fair and affordable housing, accessible and clean water, affordable and accessible public transportation, environmental conservation and municipal resources.
McCetich has also served on numerous local boards and commissions, including Sojourners’ Alliance, United Way of Moscow/Latah County, Backyard Harvest, Moscow Charter School, the Latah County Library Foundation, the Palouse Land Trust Advisory Board, the Latah County Board of Realtors, the Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute and Moscow’s Fair and Affordable Housing Commission.
“It’s cool to be part of a group of engaged, caring citizens that really want to bring more housing opportunities and make sure that federally protected classes are upheld at a local level,” McCetich said.
McCetich said that many local nonprofit organizations help fill gaps that the city of Moscow doesn’t have the ability to, and that support from the city is needed in turn.
“[Moscow is] this unique combination of welcoming and diverse, kind of has the benefits and features of a larger city, but is in a town of only 25,000 people,” McCetich said.
McCetich is one of eight candidates running for three open seats on the Moscow City Council in the November 2025 election. City council terms are four years.
