A ‘No Kings Protest’ will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The demonstration will begin at Ghormley Park, located near West Park Elementary School.
On June 14, more than 5 million people participated nationwide in No Kings demonstrations across all 50 states, pushing back against President Donald Trump’s presidency and policies. Once again, hundreds of protests have been organized nationwide.
According to the No Kings website, the event is in response to the president sending militarized agents into communities, silencing voters and handing billionaires giveaways, while families struggle.
“As President Trump continues to pretend he’s a dictator, we are standing up again to push back against his hateful, authoritarian actions,” The Moscow-based organizers’ Indivisible wrote in a press release. “Our peaceful day of action is going to bring together local residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do kings in America.”

Groups associated with organizing these protests include the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen and SEIU. A complete list of partners is available on the No Kings website. Attendees may sign up at mobilize.us.
